Yoga for the Season
pitta pacifying workshop
Through Yoga and Ayurveda practices we can shift from being overheated in the mind and body to a cool, calm, and collected awareness during the summer months.
After a brief discussion on Ayurveda and the 3 doshas, we will practice a 90-minute Yoga master class tailored specifically to ground and balance the fiery, busy Pitta dosha that is present during the summer season. You can expect to practice asana (poses) and pranayama (breathing practices) to soothe and ground the body and mind.
Oil in Sanskrit is “sneha” – another word for love. Following our Pitta Yoga class, we will discuss what an Abhyanga, self-massage, practice is and how to best practice at home. You will mix your own Abhyanga oil specifically for the Pitta season. Bring your own base oil, your choice of essential oils that are Pitta pacifying, and an old hand towel. A list of base oils and essential oils for Pitta season will be sent to you in advance.
