In this one-day retreat/seminar, we will journey into and through Krsna das Kaviraja Goswami’s rich elaboration of Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s life and teachings with the aim of exploring it from various angles of vision. Together we will consider ways of navigating this quite long literary devotional work, discuss some important key passages along with how the Caitanya Caritamrta (CC) can help us progress in our individual and collective spiritual journeys. The aim is to facilitate having a fresh look at our tradition’s, specifically Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava’s, most important scriptural edifice to pursue Śrīla Prabhupāda’s recommendation to read and discuss devotional literature “from all angles of vision.”

Some specific questions we will discuss include:

  • How does the CC relate with other biographies of Caitanya Mahāprabhu? What are various ways to read the CC
  • Why is there so much reference to prasādam in the CC? How does Kṛṣṇadāsa help us to appreciate the community of Vaiṣṇavas?
  • Is logic and argument necessary to fathom the depth of Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s mercy?

Please set aside this day and join us for a varied and engaging immersion in the Caitanya Caritamṛta
