The art of making and offering garlands to respected guests has been practiced in India since time immemorial. In the bhakti culture, the Lord is worshipped with fragrant flowers strung together by His devotees as an offering of the heart.

In this introductory seminar, we’ll learn different techniques, talk about how we can practically express our love through flower arrangements, discuss how the mind can be engaged in the process, and have a hands on experience of the meditative process of creating a garland.

Students are invited to learn how to make garlands for Srila Prabhupada, Nrsimhadeva Sila, and the presiding Deities of the Bhakti Center, Sri-Sri Radha-Muralidhar.

This class is designed for everyone who is interested in learning how to make flower garlands and exploring a different type of meditation. Students will have the opportunity to make their own garlands. No experience is necessary.

This class will include:

Brief history of flower arrangement and garland making

Preparation and purpose of the service

Significance of the service

Analogies and discussion (colors, diversity, petal by petal we build the relationship, expression of love)
