Overview
You can expect to practice a prenatal yoga class at the beginning of the workshop. After you have embodied the practice, we will dive into lecture and discussion on topics including: the basic anatomy of the pelvis and pelvic floor, the benefits of prenatal yoga, how to incorporate safe and beneficial asana for pregnant students into your general yoga classes, why breathing and pranayama are important during pregnancy, using props for support, and how to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for pregnant people! Some time will be given to brainstorming and practicing how to adjust a general yoga class sequence for a pregnant student.
This workshop is eligible for 5 hours of Continuing Education with Yoga Alliance upon request for a certificate.

Chelsea grew up in Atlanta, Georgia before calling NYC home for the past 8 years. She studied Yoga in Rishikesh, India at the Vinyasa Yoga School, trained in Ayurveda at Prema Yoga Institute, is a registered pre/postnatal yoga teacher and founder of Chickadee Yoga + Birth, teaches trauma-informed yoga for children, and is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP®).
