LOVE MEANS SERVICE

A Bhakti Center fundraiser with Radhanath Swami

We have reached our goal of raising $225,000!  Thank you so very much to our generous and supportive donors, we love you!

The Bhakti Center exists as a social and spiritual enterprise, a cultural center on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, as a home for countless seekers both in New York City and for an increasing number of community members around the U.S. and abroad.

At the heart of our name and our reason for existence, is to share the profound treasure of Bhakti – the yoga of love.  While everyone is looking for love, one of the reasons why it can be so elusive is an often misunderstanding of its meaning.

In December 1966, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada defined it with pristine clarity to his audience of young New York students. Love means service. “Bhajanti means render service in love. When there is a question of love, there is service.”

After the sobering events of the last two years both globally and locally; major changes in our staff and Bhakti Center residents; and profound shifts in the way people come together, we as a community and an organization are more inspired than ever to truly learn how to love through service.

We are deeply inspired and excited for the year to come with exciting plans on how we can offer love both to our existing Bhakti Center family of staff and community, as well as further afield to those who have not yet connected with us.

Please join us to expand our vision and share the yoga of love, through service, in ways we never dreamed of before!
