As we stand at the end of another year, we will reflect on what we’ve experienced in 2024 with love and compassion, and release what’s no longer serving. With the guidance of the teachers and the support of the group, we will learn to understand our own desires so we can envision and manifest the most fulfilling year to come.
overview
Together, we will explore the beauty and wisdom of the 5 elements that we find in nature and within. Each day will be tailored to one element which can be a profound tool to reconnect to one’s individual state of health and wellbeing. Our dharma talks, discussions and workshops will focus on the importance of finding inner connection through our personal spiritual practices and the timeless wisdom of the ancient Indian science of life, Ayurveda.
We will have daily yoga asana classes (both energizing and restorative options), morning meditation and sangas, pranayama, yoga nidra, vision board making, a sankalpa workshop, storytelling, crafts, nature hikes, fresh plant-based meals prepared each day, and plenty of time to connect with each other as well as personal time to reflect and simply be.
Vida Asana works with a several independent therapists that offer a variety of bodywork. Once you arrive, they will work with each interested person to schedule treatments. Prices range from $70 – $200 depending on the treatment.
We will practice in Vida Asana’s two spacious open-air jungle yoga shalas, which are equipped with mats, blocks, straps, bolsters.
All rooms have a private bathroom, hot water, AC, ceiling fan, and organic soap, shampoo, and conditioner.
Expect a week of deep exploration, rejuvenation, discovery, laughter and fun!!! We hope you can join us to start your 2024 with an open heart and an inspired mind in the most magical place!

Brinda Kumari (Susan Hu) is an E-RYT® 500, YACEP®, and founder of an RYS® 200 based in NYC. Born and raised in Shanghai, she has always been searching for the deeper meaning and purpose of life beyond the body and the mind. After obtaining two master’s degrees in Media and Journalism and working in marketing/communications for over seven years, she listened to her inner calling to share the teaching of yoga and became a yoga and meditation teacher. Brinda believes when you take the time to care for yourself with genuine self-love and live an aligned life, you have the power to heal yourself and the world around you. She has been assisting Yogi Charu and teaching in over 30 yoga and meditation teacher trainings. Brinda was initiated into the Brahma Madhava Gaudiya Sampradaya as a disciple of HH Radhanath Swami. With over 2,000 training hours, Brinda’s teaching style is very nourishing, grounding and uplifting with a focus on breathing and the relationship with Self. As a senior lead teacher at the Bhakti Center, she offers different styles of yoga classes, workshops, and trainings both one on one and in group settings. Her style includes Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Prana Nidra, Pranayama, Prana Vidya Healing, Chakra Meditation and other yoga and meditation techniques. Brinda also leads local and international retreats and offers Ayurveda self-care treatment and consultation.
Jamuna Jaya Devi Dasi is a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher who, after the first five minutes of her first yoga class, distinctly remembers thinking, “Oh, I soooooooooooo get this yoga stuff!” As a former professional dancer, and a life-long spiritual seeker, the synthesis of movement and contemplation on The Divine Spirit spoke to her immediately! She took her 200-hour YTT with Carrie Parker and Jillian Pransky’s Bright Spirit Teacher Training in NJ, and was lucky enough to join the apprentice program, and eventually staff at Devotion Yoga in Hoboken, NJ.
During her 300-Hour Advanced Teacher Training at Yogamaya, under Stacey Brass Russell and Bryn Chrisman, she found the path of Bhakti, and became an initiated student of HH Dhanudhara Swami. She loves combining precise alignment, and spiritual focus to give a complete experience of yoga. Currently, she teaches at The Bhakti Center, Yogamaya, for the online training Yoga Renew, as well as guest teaching at studios like StoneWave Yoga and Three Birds.
When not on her mat, Jamuna performs as a clown in hospitals for children for Healthy Humor, as her “alter ego” Dr. Ima Confused, and is a professional storyteller bringing folktales to audiences of all ages everywhere from schools, libraries, and even prisons.
