Bhakti Yoga is a devotional spiritual practice focused on cultivating love, devotion, and service. This advanced yoga training explores the core principles and practices of Bhakti Yoga, including its philosophical foundations, key texts, and practical tools for everyday life. Participants will learn to incorporate Bhakti Yoga into their personal lives and explore topics like history, paths of yoga, philosophical concepts, and devotional techniques.

Bhakti Yoga is a timeless practice of the yoga tradition that focuses on love, devotion, and service to a higher power. It is a simultaneously mystical and very practical path of yoga that has been written about extensively. Throughout this advanced yoga training we will explore the following topics in depth:

  • Vaishnavism and yoga lineage
  • History of Sri Chaitanya and Bhakti Yoga
  • The 4 paths of yoga according to Bhagavad Gita
  • Basic philosophical tenets of Bhakti Yoga
  • 9 processes of Bhakti Yoga
  • Kirtan
  • Tools to guide others into a state of devotion

Throughout this training you will learn how to incorporate these practices of Bhakti Yoga into your life and into your yoga classroom. 

We will also read and learn from the following main texts that explore the ancient practices of Bhakti Yoga: The Bhagavad Gita, The Srimad Bhagavatam (or Bhagavat Purana), The Nectar of Devotion (Bhakti Rasamrta Sindhu), and the Chaitanya Charitamrta. 

Provided that you have completed all assignments, upon graduation, you will receive a 50 hour yoga teacher training certificate that you can apply towards our 300 hour yoga teacher training program and have the option to register as a RYT 300 via Yoga Alliance.

Kishor Chandra is a yoga teacher, bhakti practitioner, and kirtan leader. Always seeking deeper truths and a higher purpose Kishor moved to India when he was 21 years old. There he lived in ashrams and studied the ancient yogic philosophy of the Vedas and yoga asana under the tutelage of master yogis. Kishor leads workshops, trainings, and retreats all over the world but his home base is the Bhakti Center where he serves as the Yoga Director. He has studied under the guidance of master teachers His Holiness Radhanath Swami, Kulavadhuta Satpurananda, Dr. Gajendra Kumar, Raghunath Cappo, Jaya Jagannath das, Dana Flynn, Abbie Galvin, Nevine Michaan, Benjamin Sears and others.

Being a yoga philosophy nerd, an alignment geek, and a gym rat, Jamuna’s classes are irreverently reverent, sweaty and precise, and full of laughs!!  A practicing bhakta, 500-hour certified Yoga Instructor, a professional clown in hospitals for children, and a professional storyteller, Jamuna loves to  serve anyone who walks into her class!
