Dayal has been on a spiritual journey his entire life, seeking truth from a young age.  At the age of 18, he became a monk and dedicated himself to a life of spiritual study, reflection and service.  One year later he made his first trip to India and has since traveled back numerous times visiting holy places throughout the subcontinent.   Having lived in ashrams across the United States, he made his way to New York City in 2008 to participate in the formative years of the Bhakti Center.  After 10 years of monastic life, he transitioned out of monk-hood. In 2013 he met his wife and is now married, continuing to live and serve in New York City as the Program Director for the Bhakti Center.  In addition to leading regular Kirtan trainings and wisdom courses in New York, Dayal oversees a team of Bhakti Center staff members who coordinate and market all programming efforts in the areas of yoga, meditation, kirtan and ayurveda.

In 2017 Dayal completed his 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification from Supersoul Academy and currently studies clinical psychology at Hunter College.

Dayal’s love for music has made Kirtan and devotional singing a critical part of his own spiritual practice.  His greatest joy is to connect with others and help bring the principles of yoga and spirituality to life for others.  In this spirit he conducts workshops, trainings and retreats throughout the world as a means to share yoga and spirituality with everyone.
