MENTORSHIP
personal guidance and caring accountability along the spiritual path
What is Mentorship at the Bhakti Center?
The Mentorship program is a platform that aims to provide guidance, care, and spiritual friendship at an individual level. This is facilitated by creating a space where individuals can interact and make friends with seasoned devotees of the community and where the mentor can help the mentee work towards their spiritual goals.
Why is Mentorship important?
A serious Krishna Consciousness practitioner soon realizes that devotional service is not just an area of life, but an integral part of every area of life. This integration requires great expertise, diligence, and maturity to live a happy and harmonious spiritual life. At the same time, advancement in Krishna Consciousness is a great art and science which needs careful attention, development of the right consciousness and mindset, deep understanding of one’s intentions, and appropriate action. A mentor plays the vital role of guiding and supporting an individual in integrating and advancing in spiritual life. The mentor helps translate the ideals and principles of devotional life into everyday application and practice. A mentor holds us accountable to our practice and regularly checks in about our progress and spiritual goals. The mentor is not only reactive to our spiritual needs but also helps us see what is most important in our spiritual lives according to our current circumstances.
