In observance of the appearance of Srimati Radharani, the embodiment of Bhakti and the feminine energy of the Divine, The Bhakti Center will host the 6th Annual Pearl Festival on August 26.
In the Gaudiya Vaishnava
Bhakti tradition Srimati Radharani is seen as the source of the other goddesses. Just as Lord Krishna is Deva-deva
, the source of all other manifestations and incarnations of God.
This festival will bring together a community to share their time and talents creating a beautiful celebration in a way that has been done for centuries in Vrindavan Dham, the holy town and center of the Bhakti tradition. With sweet music, meaningful discussion, a delicious feast, and devotion infused decoration and worship, festivals of this kind stir the depths of the heart and engage all the senses in a most pleasing practice of devotional yoga.
A special feature of this festival is that all guests will receive the opportunity to write a prayer on a paper pearl and offer it, along with a real pearl, to Radharani. All the real pearls will be collected, strung into a necklace and offered to Radharani.
The speaker for the evening is Kaustubha Das who will share a story about the meaning of The Pearl Festival in relation to the glories of Srimati Radharani.
There will also be a beautiful drama performance.
An exceptional vegetarian feast will be served beginning at 8:20pm.
