The Bhakti Center is happy to host Rukmini Poddar’s exhibition A Journey of Obscure Emotions, showcasing 100 original illustrations that explore the ambiguity of emotion. An “Obscure Emotion” is an emotion we all feel, yet struggle to articulate. Our thoughts and emotions can be powerful impulses that move us in the world, sometimes for better or sometimes for worse.

In this show the artist invites us to experience a journey of excavating our unacknowledged, sometimes murky emotions. Through this journey we can find deeper connection to ourselves and those around us.

The work was born out of a personal challenge to illustrate an emotion every day, for a hundred consecutive days, inspired by Julia Cameron’s Artist Way and Elle Luna’s #100dayproject. The illustrations are published in Rukmi’s Poddar’s book #100 Obscure Emotions which will be available, along with prints, at the event.

The Bhakti Center will be hosting ongoing exhibits of conscious art that inspire devotion, reflection and connection among our artistic community.
